《柯赛特的肖像》故事的内容与一只被诅咒的玻璃酒杯有关。古董店香兰堂打工的学生仓桥永莉心中一直牵挂着那个出现在古老雕花玻璃上的金发碧眼少女,一直期望着可以和这个非人的幻影相遇。但是这却是被诅咒器皿的宿命，两个人悲剧的开始。与普通的动画作品不同，本作采用了相当前卫和夸张的意识流表现手法。导演大胆地使用了非常强烈的色彩和摇曳不定的分镜，使得本作从头至尾都使观众宛如置身于梦幻之中。
